Actief Nu: This is the name of the dynamic digital platform we designed and developed for our client, with the goal of transforming the way Dutch people discover and book their sports activities. The core idea was to create a unified digital hub that connects users with squash, tennis, and padel courts, gyms, and a wide variety of classes (such as Yoga, Pilates, and CrossFit) in their local area. The Actief Nu project was a significant technological challenge, which we successfully completed with outstanding results.

The initial challenge focused on User Experience (UX) and data architecture. We needed to effectively combine a large volume of information — real-time facility availability, geographical location data (Locations / Gyms / Stations), and details for multiple types of sports — and present it in a simple, intuitive way. We designed a clean and engaging user interface (UI) that reflects the energy and vitality of sports, while ensuring that users can complete a booking in just a few clicks.

To ensure the platform’s reliability, we emphasized technical excellence and speed. The system needed to support real-time transactions and bookings across hundreds of partner sports facilities. We developed a robust backend that allows for immediate updates of availability and efficient management of reservations, eliminating the issue of double bookings. The platform is fully responsive, offering a flawless experience on both desktop and mobile devices — a crucial feature for users on the go.
